IGA Supermarket - Groceries Delivered

The IGA supermarket in Hawley, PA will deliver groceries to your home for a fee of only $9.95 per order. You must call on (Tuesday only) before 9:00 am and give your order. There is no minimum, and it will be delivered that day between 12:00 and 2:00 pm.

Dave's SuperDuper Market in Honesdale, PA will deliver groceries to your home for a fee of only $10.00 per order. There is a $20 minimum order. You must place your order on (Tuesday only) and speak to Jannine. Your order will be delivered on Wednesday.

Stephens Pharmacy - Prescription Delivery

Stephens Pharmacy in Honesdale, PA will deliver all your medications to your home. Just have all your prescriptions sent from your existing pharmacy to them via telephone.

Meals on Wheels

At Meals on Wheels of NEPA, our mission is to support the independent living of adults in need through the delivery of nutrition and support services. In order to carry out our mission, we strive to accomplish the following:

 

1. Provide relief from hunger for the elderly and disabled;

 

2. Decrease onset of disease with good nutrition;

 

3. Increase home based support to delay or prevent expensive institutional care.

For $6.00 a day, you will receive bread, fruit, milk and a hot meal delivered to your door.

Wayne County Transportation Service

See the attached schedule or call for reservations for transportation assistance to doctors appointments, malls, food stores, K Mart, Walmart, Weis, etc. You must give them two days notice. There is a small fee of $1 each way for anywhere in Wayne County and $2 each way for transportation outside of Wayne County.

This service is for all handicapped and senior citizens.

Hawley Senior Center

Located at 300 Park Street in Hawley, PA, the Hawley Senior Center provides a luncheon that is served every Monday through Friday at 12:00 Noon, but you must call and reserve a spot 24 hours in advance. There is a $2 donation suggested. 

The following activities are also offered daily:

9:00 - 3:00 Crafts, cards and games

9:30 - 10:00 Walking Club

10:00 - 11:00 Exercise

11:00 - 3:00 MahJong

Tuesday offers Bingo from 1:00 - 2:00

Wayne County Area on Aging

You may qualify for some FREE services, home health aid, home delivery of meals, help with bathing, etc. Please call and speak to Helen Cobb who will set up an appointment for you. She will have a representative come to your home and evaluated what services you may be able to receive.

The term "Neighbors" refers to residents or owners of homes with the Paupackanl Lake Community who have registered as users of this Site. When you join and use the Site, you agree that you have read and will follow the rules provided below.
